Egypt 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball Team Heads to Angola for African World Cup Qualifiers

The first delegation of Egypt’s 3×3 wheelchair basketball national team   departed today morning for Angola to participate in the African qualifiers for the World Cup, as part of a comprehensive preparation plan aimed at achieving a strong presence on the international stage.

The technical staff, led by head coach Ismail Okasha, has announced the squad for the qualifiers, which includes Ashraf Zaghloul, Ahmed “Bibo”, Mostafa Abdel Moaty “Disha”, Sami Sabaaoui, and Mahmoud Mahfouz. The selected lineup reflects a strategic balance between experience and ambition.

The delegation is headed by Eng. Amr El-Sadek, Executive Manager of the Federation, who is overseeing all logistical and administrative arrangements related to the team’s participation.

The team’s participation comes within a broader development plan implemented by the Egyptian Wheelchair Basketball Federation, under the leadership of President May Zein ElDein, capitalizing on the recent positive momentum in both technical and organizational aspects of the sport.

Current preparations highlight a clear commitment to ensuring players are fully ready, both physically and technically, particularly as African competition continues to witness significant growth in quality and intensity.

The African qualifiers will take place from March 23 to April 4, featuring several strong national teams competing for qualification spots to the World Cup, making for a highly competitive tournament.

Egypt enters the qualifiers with high ambitions to achieve a new milestone, building on recent training camps that focused on improving team cohesion, increasing game pace, and enhancing shooting accuracy in decisive moments.
